New print! It’s a Owl and a… a… a… dead mouse.

Wednesday, April 25th, 2012

You know not all owls are smiley hoots and rainbow colored poop pellets (I know the pellets aren’t poop, so back off).  This new print is my nod to those flying, meat eating ghouls of the night.  Wouldn’t it look great in your babies nursery!

To find this print at my store either click on the owl or go here:  http://www.etsy.com/listing/98433677/death-owl-5×7-digital-giclee-fine-art

It comes in 3 sizes, kind of a small, medium, large thing going on.

Abstract Thought

I’ve been playing today.  I thought I would try working on a little abstract art.

It was really fun to do.

Badger Art

Tuesday, October 25th, 2011

Apparently I am into weasels this year.  I started illustrating my own book featuring a weasel,  I created a  otter print and now I am introducing my new Badger print. And yes, they are all in the weasel family.  Badgers have a  particularly bad rap.  I think they are awesome creatures.  Here is a video showing just how frinkin’ cute they can be , http://youtu.be/8Qn39LBQBL0 .  The person in the video had a badger make a home at her home when it was young.  They became friends and after about 2 years the badger left.

So if you love badgers and desperately need a some badger art please visit my Etsy store:  www.badbird.etsy.com

August’s Embroidery Pattern – Some birds and stuff…

Monday, August 15th, 2011

So sorry I am late with this month’s pattern.  I’ve been terribly busy what with winning awards and selling a butt load of art.  Greatness never rests (or maybe, no rest for the wicked, you choose).

I didn’t have a clear idea of what I wanted to do for this month’s pattern so I dug into my archive of old drawings.  What I found was an idea I had for a quilt.  This quilt will never be made, so I thought, “Why not”?   The birds are kind of modern-ish, but the “flowers” are based on a vintage quilt I saw a long time ago.

I am very curious to see what you guys do with this image.  There are quite a lot of elements in which all kind of interesting needlework treatments could be used.

Have fun!  And, remember, click on the image to get the full size pattern.

ps- I would like to thank a certain someone for not yelling at me for being late with the pattern.  You know who you are….
