Can there be to much play time?
So I was thinking, “My quilts really don’t have to have a bunny, bird or deer in them do they?”. What if I was to make a abstract quilt? I’ve been looking at the Gee’s Bend Quilts. I love them. They are so hand made. They’re very much like abstract expressionist art but have a more human touch since they are made with fabric. Not just any fabric but with fabric that has been worn by their makers and their families.
So I am playing with abstract designs. Which is harder then one might think. I have been getting inspiration not only from the Gee’s Bend Quilters, but some of my Internet friends like Silly BooDilly and Jude Hill.
I think that I am liking the way this is going.

I delight in your illustrations, and get a bit intoxicated by your stitched work, which I find beautiful, rich, inspirational and original. I really look forward in seeing where you head to next with your quilting. xo
