Star and Bubble Gum Quilt

Monday, November 30th, 2009

Star and Bubble Gum Quilt.  20″x20″, Cotton with hand embroidery and Quilting.

Another star quilt.  I’m not sure where this image came from, it just popped up in my head.  I love the candy colors.

This design allowed me to add more embroidery.  Thank god.  I love my last quilt, but the lack of embroidery made me nervous.

United State Post Office Holiday Shipping Schedule.

Monday, November 30th, 2009

Many people get confused about the shipping times for the USPS.  For Domestic delivery in the US it’s 1to 3 days,  International 3 to 10 days.  But, better yet, go to this link (USPS Holiday Schedule) :  http://www.usps.com/holiday/calendar.htm

Better to get the info from the horses mouth!

Remember to leave enought time for returns.  Also, my Italian customers are always reminding me,  pack international mail as if the mail carrier was a drunken monkey.  It’s just safer that way.

I have finished the quilt top of my next abstract quilt.

I am excited that I got to do a little more embroidery on this one.

Ida Mae, the Octopus.

Friday, November 20th, 2009

New Print.  It’s called Octopus, but I like to think of her as Ida Mae.

I’m feeling agitated.

Thursday, November 19th, 2009

I’m feeling very agitated.  What this means is that I have been painting.  I have no idea why painting art does this to me.  I can’t focus.  I kind of feel like hitting somebody.  And, painting makes it hard for me to do my other types of art.  I am going to try to start a quilt tonight.  Wish me luck.

The photo shows my next quilt at the very beginning.  The fabric color combination is teal, pink and yellow.  You can also see the paper applique patterns.  There are only 2 applique parts to this quilt.

Abstract Quilt called Three Stars.

Sunday, November 15th, 2009

Okay, you guys better be nice to me about this quilt.  It’s doesn’t have a bird, deer or heart in.  It’s a abstract.  I love it and if you make fun of it I will find you and pinch you real hard.

I am thinking of doing more of these.  It was so freeing.  Just shapes and colors.

The only embroidery is around the stars.  I outlined them with a black blanket stitch.

This quilt is made of cotton and it totally hand sewn including the quilting.  It measures 20″ x 30″.  You can get really good views of this quilt if you click on the images.

The shapes are based on doddles, and shapes I have found in hex signs.
