Eeeeeeeep! Look what I got! Comic Con 2009 just happened in San Diego, CA. I live only a few miles away from the convention center where it was held. My daughter went and got me this autographed photo of Mike, Crow and Tom Servo. She has met them at the last 3 Comic Cons. She also says that they are the nicest guys at the Con. They even shared their beef jerky with her.
Frankly, if I was to go to Comic Con it would be just to meet them. Since 1988, they have been an important part of my families culture.
Mike Nelson, Bill Corbett and Kevin Murphy now put together and star in Rifftrax. Rifftrax in a online site where you can purchase and download commentaries by Mike, Bill and Kevin. Go to the site. It’s much easier to understand Rifftrax when you see the real thing. You can also view samples which are hilarious.
All I can say is that I love these guys.

When MST3000 originally started in Minneapolis it was hosted by Joel Hodgson. He used to come into the video store where I worked to rent movies from our Bad Bad Movie section. He was really nice but really shy.
Oh lady! You should have gone to the Stone Brewery (even closer than the con) last Thursday night. They were there doing a live commentary on The Matrix: Reloaded (which was the only way we were going to watch that one again) which was hilarious. Earlier in the evening Wil Wheaton was there reading from his recent writings too. Truly a fun geek-out evening.
Whoa — yet another reason to lust after Comic-Con! We adore MST 3K; in fact, we just finished watching Hamlet last night. Of course if it were Joel doing the Comic-Con appearance I’d have had to walk there from Massachusetts….
AAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHH!!!!!!! So jealous!
The one year I don’t go! gah! I am making a vow from now on (no matter how poor) to go every year!
I’m crazy for that show! I’ll have to check out that site.
I am SOOO jealous! I love those guys! One year I’ve got to get down there for that.
ohmygosh!! you are so lucky. I would love to meet those guys some day. I seriously watch that show every single day. we have all of them on dvd.
How cool! I’m planning to make a felt Tom Servo for my son’s first birthday.
