Facts about aging that nobody told me about.

When I was young I had lush, thick, black eyebrows.

As I have gotten older my eyebrows have begun to thin.  New hairs are coming in light brown and worst of all, some are coming in white!  I hardly have a grey hair on my head, so what’s up with the eyebrows.

Probably the scariest thing is how my new eyebrow hair is growing in.  Instead of laying down flat the hairs are growing straight out.  I just know that soon I will be stuck with white crew cut eyebrows.

Nobody ever told warned be about this.  It is very disturbing.

Don’t worry, you’ll still have lots of “normal” brow hairs along with the crazy wiry ones. It’s very easy and quick to have your brows tinted or, use a pencil to fill in the rough spots. I love the Glominerals pencil in brunette. It’s a rough transition, but I promise you can still have great brows!

Omigosh, I feel your pain!!! They become sparse, and the ones that do grow in are long. And gray. :( I’m only 31.

(BTW, I think those hairs one loses on their brow runs away to live on the chin….)

    Get your thyroid function checked.

I’m 33 and my eyebrows started growing crazy too. They stick out towards the ends and are getting sparser. My Dr. noticed this and did thyroid tests like the previous poster suggested. My thyroid levels came out fine but the eyebrow changes are a symptom of problems.

I’ve found that using brow pencil lightly and then putting some clear mascara over helps with the thinning and wiry, stand up hairs. I do miss my old brows though.

I second Cathy’s advice. Thinning eyebrows can be a major hypothyroid symptom. The voice of experience here.

My eyebrows started turning white after I had my son. I was 28 at the time. definitely a bummer. I’m now 50 and have hairs growing on my chin of course they are not white because that would make it easier right?? see what you have to look forward to??? white eyebrows and black chinny chin chin hairs! LOL. aging what a blast!!

I hate to tell you this but eyebrows are not the only thing you need to look out for as you age. Check out this partial list:

    thinning lips
    growing nose
also growing earlobes (I am NOT making this up)
    thickening waist
    rounded upper back
flattening rear (goes great with the thickening waist)
    thinning hair (yup, both places)
    drooping eyelids

There’s more but I don’t want you to perish in fright. Enjoy your day.

MAC has some great brow “mascara”, and it comes in a pretty good variety of colours too! I like your idea better though… maybe you could custom cut some fake moutasches and just glue those puppies on in the morning!

Or just do what I do and shave them off. I draw in beautiful new eyebrows every day and it’s a done deal. No tweezing, trimming, Pretty dang SCHWEET!

I am laughing so hard it is pitiful. I have found several white eyebrow hairs too and just tweezer them out. I hope for everyone I pull out won’t make two more grow back. Getting old is H***.
