The World of Novelty T-Shirts: The Unicorn

Wednesday, May 27th, 2009

I thought I would give t-shirts a try.  I don’t know how much appeal this image has but there must be someone out there that wants a shirt with a totally stupid image on it.

I’m using Zazzle to print my shirts.  If there are any other images you would like to have printed, such as some of my already existing work, let me know.  I can make the arrangements very quickly to have a shirt with your chosen image up and ready to purchase.   They have many different styles of t-shirts to choose from.  Even though I have lost weight I personally need a large shirt and Zazzle has them.

Stag and Flowers, Embroidery Pattern

Saturday, May 23rd, 2009

Brand new pattern.  This image is based on an embroidered art piece I did about 2 years ago called For the Love of Deer.  This pattern is called Stag and Flowers.  The original piece had blood dripping down from the neck.  This one has no blood.

This pattern can be found at my Etsy store:  http://www.etsy.com/view_listing.php?listing_id=25468094

Friday, May 22nd, 2009

I have a new pattern for my Sideshow category.  This one is called Delilah the Beautiful.   I myself have weight problems so I feel like I have a bit of a bond with this character.  I think she is very pretty.

You can find this pattern at my Etsy store: http://www.etsy.com/view_listing.php?listing_id=25412038

Can’t you just feel the magic.

Fox

Does this image look a little Manga to you?   Hum…..

Most of my paintings have been shipped to my gallery in Texas.  There are a few paintings to finish up but I am feeling a bit more free.  I am enjoying the freedom of designing prints at night.  This will probably end when I get the urge to quilt.  Quilting is my usual night time occupation.

The Fox is at my Etsy store:  http://www.etsy.com/view_listing.php?listing_id=25246004

Chickadees and Goldfinches, New Prints

Sunday, May 17th, 2009

Ah, spring is in the air.  The birds are going nuts.  There’s a crazy mocking bird right outside my bedroom window that chirps like a idiot at 2:00  in the morning.  What a lovely time of year

Goldfinches look kind of like little yellow sport cars with black detailing.  Lucky for us these little beauties are pretty common.  I see them at a friend’s bird feeder all the time.

I know I said that this one wasn’t for sale, but I decided to go ahead and get it out there.

Check them out at my Etsy store:

May’s Embroidery Pattern, a Wee Baby Goat

Monday, May 11th, 2009

Okay, so I almost forgot this months pattern.  I give  thanks to that “special” someone who reminded me by stating, “Where’s the pattern.  I want my free pattern”.

So imagine if you will, a pencil frantically sketching page after page until the artist yells, “Aha, I’ve got it”. Next, imagine this same artist, a middle aged somewhat plump woman, running at full speed toward her scanner.  Sliding into her seat she places her drawing into the scanner, then calls up her scanner program on her computer, hits scan, and waits as she watches the scanner begin to glow in anticipation as it discovers what next wonder of art it is about digest.

Through a process that can only be described as “magic” the artist finds that she is able to upload her newest and edgiest artwork into her Illustrator program.  With the precision of a surgeon the artist uses the pencil function in her Illustrator program to draw onto her earth shatteringly artistic masterpiece.  Erasing the orginal drawing, what is left is nothing short amazing.

With the edition of some magical symbols that are placed at the upper left hand and lower right hand corner of her work she feels secure that evil forces will think twice about doing something naughty with her artwork.   Now the art is ready.  The only step left is to introduce her newest piece to the world through her blog.

So,  I would like to introduce to you the embroidery pattern called, “Wee Baby Goat”.

I hope you are happy.

Chickadees

Sunday, May 10th, 2009

I have had a lot on my mind lately.  I have another art show coming up at Galleri Urbane in Marfa, TX.   I need to ship out several pieces this week and then finish up several more paintings.  When I paint I get into a weird frame of mind.  It’s like I go through the world with blinders.  A sort of tunnel vision that allows only thoughts regarding my paintings.  My house is a mess, I eat poorly and let’s face it I get pretty bitchy.

At night I really want to rest my mind.  I find peace and calm in designing prints.  You may have notice that many of my recent blogs feature new prints.  As emotionally wrenching my paintings are for me, creating prints is playful and fun.  I need both in my life.  They help create a fragile balance in my life.

So, as you can see, I have designed yet another chickadee print.  You never can go wrong with birds.  This print is not for sale yet.

Can there be too many Antler Girl images?

Friday, May 8th, 2009

Can there be too many images of little girls with antlers?   Discuss……

Just kidding.  I wanted to try to create a image totally designed on the computer.  I was trying for a Golden Book illustration look.  I call her Mother Nature’s Youngest Daughter in hopes that I might create a series of Mother Nature’s daughters.  I haven’t decided if the series will actually happen.  The style is very different from my other work.
