A Trip to the Sea.

My Husband and I went up the California coast to go hiking.  One of our favorite places to go is Montana de Oro near Moro Bay.

This picture shows the trail up to Valencia Peak. And, yes, we hiked up to the peak of that small mountain.

My husband is posing here to try to give scale to the surroundings.  It still doesn’t convey how creey steep this trail is.  The hill drops off on both sides of the trail.

Next day.  The trail to Oats peak.  Oats peak is covered with wild oats.

About 500 feet from the peak I got scared and sat down.  I told my husband to go ahead to the top.  It was very steep and windy.  I felt like the wind was trying to push me off the mountain.  But is was pretty.  Lots of poppies.

Lady bugs where in full force.  They really liked these flowers the most.

While driving around sight-seeing we spotted this.

This yard was full of dinos.  What an embrassing way for a surfer to die.  T-Rexed to death.  I mean they’re extinct and everything.

Would you let your child play in that tree house?  Dino’s for pets is not a good idea.  Just imagine the poop.

It looks like fluffy here has a small dino standing on his tail.

  1. I had a similar scary hike in the Australian outback. But, the closest we came to dinos were the ginormous mining trucks. Terrifying, but with a lot less poo.

Heh, I grew up right near that dinosaur house. I actually drove past there the last time I visited my parents. It just gets weirder and weirder as years pass. :)

Glad you enjoyed your time on the central coast!
