The tale of two unfinished quilts.

Owl quilts by Andrea Zuill  Do you remember me saying that I’ve had owls on the brain lately?  Here is the offspring of that condition.  Two small unfinished owl quilts.  I can’t believe how different they are.  Should I be concerned?  Probably not.

Owl quilt by Andrea Zuill  This was the first owl quilt design that I started.  I had trouble coming up with a design.  I found great reference on Flickr when I did a search on owl tattoos.  I recommend doing a searching for owl tattoos,  I found some real beauties.

Owl quilt by Andrea Zuill  This is my second owl quilt design.  This one started out being a scherenscnitte pattern (papercutting art).  The more I looked at the drawing I became more convinced it  would make a great small quilt.  This quilt needs a lot more work.   I do like how primitive it looks, but can I actually handle not embroidering the heck out of it?

Button Bird  Here is my bird buddy Button with a face full of oatmeal.  This has nothing to do with owl quilts.

Ooooooo button! I can see he’s still getting handouts even though I’m gone. If Button was a president, I think he’d be Taft.
