Everything is all squared away with The Crafter’s Studio, in Santa Cruz, California, so I will be teaching a class on making a quilt like my Black Rabbit quilt. It’s for a whole weekend, Saturday Oct. 25 and Sunday Oct. 26, 1:00 to 6:00, both days. It’s pretty intensive and should be lots of fun.
One of the cool things about The Crafter’s Studio is that they will have all the supplies, so all you have to do is show up! The cost for the class is $150.00. Not bad for 2 full crafting days including the materials!
Here is the new link to see info at Crafters Studio web site, and you can register there as well: Click here to link to the quilt class info page
I made up this flyer which you can print out. The image at the top of the flyer is a sample of what the Black Rabbit quilt looks like. We will be making a petite Black Bird quilt for the class.

this sounds like soooo much fun…would that I could hope on a jet and join in…
“hope to hop” on a jet? or just “hop” on a jet…errrgh!
That is so cool that you’re doing a workshop! Your quilts are awesome. (Too bad I live on the other side of the country!)
thats so exciting!! santa cruz is 5 hours away from me… a little too far! but I love the quilt you made!
[...] Andrea Zuill, needleworker extraordinaire and host of Badbird’s blog, is teaching live at The Crafter’s Studio in Santa Cruz, CA, October 25-26. The class is called Old Ways, New Quilts: Folk Art Quilts for the Imperfect Quilter. While making a “petite blackbird quilt,” you’ll learn traditional applique techniques, hand stitching, and quilt history to create modern folk-art quilts. The fee of US$ 150.00 covers all supplies and materials for the two-day, intensive class. Find out more on Andrea’s blog. [...]

Thanks Andrea! That link works!
Oh grrrr!! I want to do this so badly! I love all of your work and I often use your free embroidery patterns for gifts and swap items and I would totally die to join this workshop but I just can’t afford it
The worst part about it is I even live in Santa Cruz so I wouldn’t even have o go out of my way (not that I wouldn’t anyway
) to get to the studio.
Let it be know that I love your quilts
And I hope the workshop is super awesome and a billion people show up. It sounds like sooo much fun!
