I just got back from a quick trip to Santa Cruz, Ca.
Sensing that I would be spending more time in Santa Cruz than I ever had before I began my search for all things crafty. Santa Cruz has an organic, artsy feel about it so I figured that the prospects would be good.
I could tell that the craft gods and goddesses where on my side when I beheld The Crafter’s Studio. The Crafter’s Studio is located in the funky downtown of Santa Cruz. This homey santuary specializes in craft classes where you sign up, show up, and craft. They supply everything.
There are classes in crochet, felting, knitting, sewing, jewelry making, papercrafts, glass, candle making and much more. You can also purchase a Studio Pass which lets you use their studio and equipment.
Ever felt like having a craft party? Well, you can do that at The Crafter’s Studio too. I keep having images of me and my friends, heading on a girls trip, up to Northern California, having a day of exploring, shopping, hiking and then having a craft party. Sigh….
Well, here is the real kicker. I will propably be teaching a weekend long class at the Crafter’s Studio. I am hoping to put together a two day long workshop on creating a quilt like my Black Rabbit Quilt. It will be intensive, since I really hope to have everyone complete a small quilt. The dates for the classes will be at the end of October. I still am ironing out the details.
If you are ever in the Santa Cruz area stop by The Crafter’s Studio. Say hi to Rebecca and Heidi. They’ll show you around.

That looks like a fun place to go. I’ll have to remember that when I go up there next time.
I’m not sure how I discovered your blog exactly but it was via your free embroidery patterns and I’m so glad I found it! They are super cute and I can’t wait to do all sorts of crafty things with them! Thanks so much! Also, I love your artwork on Etsy.
Let me know next time you are there! I live in Santa Cruz! I have been wanting to go check out the Crafters Studio. I am planning on shopping at the thrift store across the street from there tomorrow so maybe I will stop in. I cant wait. This is sooooo cool!
oh God….I want to go….that is what I want to do for a job……where can I sign up?
Hello Andrea!
Thanks so much for your very very cute patterns; I stitched your Little Dutch Girl on a very little cushion you can see on my blog or on my Flickr:

I hope you will appreciate my personal version of your beautiful drawing.
My daughter wants me to stitch other patterns from you.
Have a great week end.
And thanks again from France.

Oh, such a nice place sounds like heaven! In Portugal there are so few good spaces like this. Only in big cities and the workshops are mostly very basic and always the same. Ceramics? Jewelry making? Candle? WOW! I would kill for those workshops!
Thank you for showing this.
And by the way… I LOVE your work!
Ah I go to school in Santa Cruz, and have always walked by this place. I MUST stop in there now!
