I have a new quilt going on! It’s a bit different. I’m using a lot of black. I love the background fabric that I found in a quilting store in Utah. This fabric has the aged pinks, teals, cranberry and aqua.
The single black rabbit started out as a rabbit shaped blob. I thought that that is all I wanted. I should have know better. I can’t resist embroidering the heck out of something. I outlined the rabbit in a medium blue. Then I used a darker purpley blue and a sage green to stitch inside the rabbit.
This time I will not follow the outline of the appliqued shapes with embroidery. I want the applique and embroidery to mingle with the background fabric. Notice the yellow embroidery goes off the appliqued shape, and walks across the background.

this looks like a great project….
