Ranchita is a little high desert town East of where I live. Often in search of hiking or just a drive we make our way to Ranchita. The last 2 times I was there I noticed a huge Yeti between the store and real estate office. The question that hit me was, Why? Ranchita in in Southern California so even if there was a sighting of a creature it would probably be brown, like a big foot, not a white Yeti. I Googled “Yeti and Ranchita” and came up with the artist website, http://www.roadsidemonster.com/ . On this site you can see more images of the monsters, why and how they where made, and, if you feel so inclined, you may purchase one. I just wish I was rich.

It reminds me of the one blonde Planet of the Apes guy. Legend has it we have our fair share of Yeti around these parts too.

My middle son’s birthday is coming up. I think I would be the coolest mom in town if this showed up with a ribbon on his 13th birthday. And it does look like the blonde ape from Planet of the Apes.
I love their line- Too big and ugly to miss. This thing is so weird, but for some reason I am drawn to it.

Yes, we know it’s southern cal, but we were snowed in on Valentines day … we get snow up here every year… just 60 miles from San Diego. Thanks for the beautiful pictures of Rancheti. (Ranchita Yeti). He has two brothers out now.. a white yeti surfer dude, and a brown sasquatch Blues brother (complete with sun glasses and left-handed bass.) I’m now working on Frankie… my electronic beast with glowing eyes, and fukll communications module so he can speak to you… trying to make him wifi. joe
