I hate to break it to you……

Queen Quilt is dead!    The Queen quilt is dead. Yes, dead. I started on the embroidery and a little of the applique last night and I got bored. Quilting at night is one of the most soothing things I do all day. It usually excites me and challenges me. The Queen quilt is too much like my paintings. I need my quilts to bring different feelings out of me. So, the Queen is dead.
But, I think this next quilt might make it all the way to the end.

I got all excited by the appliqued crown, it looked like it was gonna be great. The second idea, does look really cool though. I can’t wait to see how this progresses.

ah shuckles. But keeping yourself excited is paramount. I love how you show examples of your sketches- I may show a few of mine (although I am very vague sometimes) next week. Have a good weekend.

Andrea, you are just one big ball of creativity! Sometimes it’s better to just admit something isn’t working so you can move on to something that will. This new one looks amazing. Good luck!

Hi, I just found you through flickr contacts. The quilt looked like it was going to be really interesting, but I understand. Sometimes I’ll get all excited about a project and then if it takes too long I’ll get tired of it. I guess I have a short attention span or ADD or both. You however seem to get a lot accomplished. Great Stuff!

I love her! Please No! My brother in law (also an artist) does this all the time! He decides he doesn’t like something and kicks it to the curb. My favorite thing to do when I visit is go through the trash in his studio (it annoys the hell out of him). Instead if killing her off put her aside for a while and go back and see if you still feel the same way. If you do I will give you my address:)

I think anyone who has ever created original stluff knows exactly what happened.

Very cute! Please don’t say it is dead. Re-think it! Turn it into a smaller quilted pillow or pillowcase. Something that does not take as long to complete. Tea stain it! It may help you to look at it differently. Or, you could stretch it like a canvas, even paint on it… I am sure there are endless possibilities.
