I was sick last weekend, but not sick enough to keep me from working on my quilt. I have now appliqued all the shapes to the background fabric. The quilt now shows all 3 stages of my embroidery process, 1. Applique with no embroidery, 2. Beginning embroidery ideas, and 3. Final embroidered look.
1.) No embroidery (besides the deer), just appliqued shapes.
2.) This shows my basic embroidery ideas. I almost just stayed with
this look.
3.) Final embroidered look. The embroidery helps pop the existing colors
and adds more texture and rhythm.
PLEASE click on the images, it will give you a much better view of the work.

This is beautiful. Truly.
Wow this looks great. The embroidery really makes a difference. Now I think I’m going to have to try adding embroidery to my applique project. Thanks for showing us how you’ve worked on this quilt.
One more question…are you using an embroidery hoop to do that?
Yes, I am using a embroidery hoop, a large one.
This is really, really beautiful! Wow! I wish I had the patience to do this sort of thing! Anyway, I wanted to say hi, i love your etsy shop! (the cafepress tote bag is super cute!)
